14 Iranian fishermen released after 8 years in Somali

They were released through the consultation and efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.

These people, who are residents of Chabahar in southeast Iran on the Sea of Oman, had been captured by Al-Shabaab terrorist group in international waters near Somalia in 2014.  

A special ceremony was held at Imam Khomeini International Airport in southwest of the Iranian capital Tehran with the presence of the families of these released fishermen and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and they were welcomed.
