On the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, November 15, Javad Owji told Iran Press correspondent that the 20 percent increase was realized through launching the gas refinery of Phase 14 of the South Pars field, south of Iran.
Owji related the issue to the air pollution in the megacities of the country and said that since the beginning of the current year further 36 million cubic meters of gas have been injected into the power plants daily to decrease the level of air pollution.
Six million more cubic meters of gas have also been delivered daily to major industries, he added.
He promised the collection of the flare gas from the eastern and western Karoon oil fields.
The flare gases are rich, polluting, and toxic gases that will be used as the feed of petrochemical factories after being be processed.
